The Joint Council for Child Issues is the oldest, independent child rights organisation in Denmark.

We are members of EuroChild and Human Rights Council.

We attend permanently Nordic Child Welfare (Nordisk Børneforsorg) Conference together with other child rights organisations in Scandinavia:

Centralförbundet för barnskydd (Finland)

Barnaverndarstova Føroya (Faroe Islands)

Barnaverndarstofa (Iceland)

Norsk Barnevernsamband (Norway)

Allmänna Barnhuset (Sweden)

We have 20 national member organisations in Denmark, working with and on behalf of more than 500,000 children and young people.

The basis of our mandate and core values is UN’s Convention of the Rights of the Child and we report to UN’s Committee on the Right of the Child on the conditions for children in Denmark.

Our vision is a Denmark without child poverty – a Denmark where children’s right of participation, self-determination, health, development and security is a reality.
